Position Overview:
The Database Administrator is responsible for the activities related to the database administration and the development support of the Integrated Justice System. Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration. This position optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Defines data repository capabilities and monitors database(s) and related systems for performance issues and errors.
Provide thorough guidance and recommendations for system improvement.
Performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, implement testing processes and procedures, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements.
Supports multiple transactional, replication services, subscription activities, and databases of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, systems feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility of data.
Create, maintain, and document system recovery scripts, database design and architecture. Perform data migration activities and upgrades.
Provide performance monitoring reports

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
Experience:
Five to eight years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Must possess excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
The ability to interact with staff at all levels.
Strong knowledge of personal computers and software, specifically Microsoft Office.
Thorough knowledge of structured query language, Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services, transactional replication, and Always on Availability Groups.
Strong knowledge of transactional replication and publisher/subscriber configurations.
Strong knowledge of database management and associated activities.
Strong ability and skill to troubleshoot and focus on high priority issues during critical incidents.
